Hello again, I've got some exciting news. At least I think it is.

My top most exciting thing is I have a race in Georgia in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to do a race in the mountains. I can't wait to bomb down the down hills but, we all know what that mean. Long challenging climbs.

Another exciting thing that happen to me is that I got new parts for my bike. All the new parts is a nice upgrade. Thanks LeRoy and the gang at LeRoy's Bikeworks. Also, my ESI grips came just in time. Thanks ESI grips.

Thanks for stopping by and, I'll keep you posted on the race results.

Hi! I have been training real hard for the Florida State Championship.  I've been riding every Tuesday with the cycle youth group and I have been getting faster.  I have done two races so far this year.

My first race was in Ocala and I came in eighth place. It took place in the Vortex at Santos. It was a very challenging race; any of you out there that has ridden this trail, I would think you will agree.

The second race was the six hour in Alafia and I came in fourth place.  That was the greatest time ever.  I was so excited when I finished to know that I am able to ride in an endurance race that takes six hours!

Both of the races were challenging, and I used them as a learning skill.  Speaking of skills, I've learned a technique that makes you go faster on the turns.  I had problems, but I got use to it with a little help from the other cycle youth racers.  Every Thursday I ride with a group out of LeRoy's Bikeworks and learn skills from them, too.

Thanks again for stopping by. See you at the races!

New B to Mountain Bike Racing & Blogs

Hi, my name is Kyler Hall. I am 13 years old and live in Lakeland, FL. I am a new b when it comes to mountain bike racing, but have been riding for about 1 1/2 years. I started when a friend asked me to ride with him at Loyce Harpe Park in Mulberry, FL. I loved it. Later, I decided to race a couple of races with him, and loved that, too.
I have been doing a lot of training to get ready for the upcoming races. I train on a Scott Scale 29er mountain bike. I train about 4-5 times a week. About 2 times, I train pretty hard by doing intervals. The othe days, I do easier workouts where I work on my bike handling skills & endurance. All this training is helping me reach my goals, which is to not give up and go faster in the races.
I joined Cycle Youth from LeRoy's Bikeworks at the beginning of the year. I have made many friends here and have learned from them. Some of the things I learned are better ways through the trails and encouragement to do new trails that I was afraid to try.
I have done 5 races so far. The first one was about a yesr ago. I took second and was happy. After that, I did a couple of races during the Florida State Champion Series (FSC). I didn't do too well during theses, but I used them as learning tools for the season coming up. Last January I competed in the 6 Hours of El Largarto in Mulberry, FL. I was in a team and it was my first endurance race. I was happy with my performance. My training was starting to pay off.
I am looking at doing a lot more races this year. I am going to start it off with the SERC #1 at Santos in a couple of weeks. I am excited. I hope my training will pay me back during this race.
Thank you for stopping by and reading. I hope you enjoyed learning a little about me. See you at the next race!
